Hello, I'd like to introduce myself my name is Mandy Velasquez-Roybal. I was born in Durango and raised in Ignacio, graduated in 1999 from Ignacio High School. I moved to Taos, New Mexico in 2000 but found my way back to Ignacio in 2007. Ignacio is home, I love our little town and the people in it. I am very involved in our community and will do anything I can to make it better. My husband, my mom, and I are the founders of Santa's Helpers which not only helps at Christmas but all year around. Which we started in 2020 helping 23 families our first year. This year 2025 with the help our community we were able to help 293 families.
Growing up my mom taught me everyone goes through hard times and needs positive people in their corner. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I look forward to see where is opportunity leads me.
